Your Beas Kund adventure begins from Manali with a short drive to Dhundi, the starting point of the trek. Located in the Solang Valley region, Dhundi offers the first glimpse of the magnificent Pir Panjal range and the glacial Beas River flowing through the valley. After a brief orientation, begin your trek towards Bakarthach, following a scenic trail that winds through lush alpine meadows, grazing pastures, and crystal-clear mountain streams.
As you gradually gain altitude, the landscape opens up to spectacular views of towering Himalayan peaks including Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Ladakhi Peak, and the Seven Sisters. The peaceful trail, surrounded by vibrant wildflowers during the summer months and dramatic mountain scenery, makes for an enjoyable first day of trekking. Upon reaching Bakarthach, a beautiful high-altitude meadow nestled amidst the mountains, settle into your campsite and soak in the serene Himalayan atmosphere. Spend the evening surrounded by breathtaking views before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay under the star-lit mountain sky.
After an early breakfast, begin the most rewarding day of the trek as you ascend from Bakarthach to the sacred Beas Kund. The trail gradually climbs through rocky moraines, glacial streams, and expansive alpine terrain, offering uninterrupted views of some of the most iconic peaks in the Pir Panjal range, including Friendship Peak, Hanuman Tibba, Shitidhar, Ladakhi Peak, and the Seven Sisters. As you approach the glacial basin, the rugged Himalayan landscape becomes increasingly dramatic, making every step worthwhile.
Upon reaching Beas Kund, witness the pristine glacial lake that marks the origin of the Beas River and holds immense mythological significance as the meditation site of Maharishi Vyas. After spending some time at the lake, begin your descent back to Bakarthach along the same scenic trail. After breakfast, bid farewell to the serene alpine meadows of Bakarthach and begin your descent towards Dhundi. The trail retraces its way through lush grasslands, glacial streams, and scenic valleys, offering one last chance to admire the spectacular landscapes of the Pir Panjal range. As you make your way downhill, enjoy panoramic views of towering Himalayan peaks, vibrant meadows, and the crystal-clear Beas River flowing alongside the trail.
Upon reaching Dhundi, board your vehicle for the short drive back to Manali. As you descend through the beautiful Solang Valley, take in the charming mountain scenery and fresh Himalayan air before arriving in Manali.
