Your journey begins from McLeodganj, where our team will greet you and give a short briefing about the trail. The trek starts with a gradual ascent through refreshing pine forests, oak trees, and scenic viewpoints overlooking Dharamshala.
On the way, you’ll pass the famous Magic View Café, one of the oldest tea points on the trail, perfect for a short refreshment break.
By afternoon, you’ll reach Triund Base Camp, located in a peaceful meadow just below the Triund ridge. After checking in to your tents, enjoy hot snacks and soak in the mesmerizing sunset over the mountains.
Wake up early to witness a beautiful Triund sunrise, lighting up the mighty Dhauladhar peaks. After breakfast, spend some time exploring the ridge, taking pictures, or simply enjoying the peaceful mountain surroundings.
Begin your descent back to McLeodganj after packing up. The downhill trail is easier and offers a relaxing walk through the forest. You’ll reach McLeodganj by early afternoon, marking the end of your refreshing weekend getaway.
The Triund Trek is considered easy to moderate, making it ideal for beginners, families, and weekend travelers. The trail has a gradual ascent with a final steep section known as the “22 curves.”
The best time to trek Triund is March to June and September to December. The weather is clear, views are excellent, and the trail remains safe. Avoid July–August due to heavy monsoon rains.
The trek is approximately 7–8 km one way, taking 4–6 hours to reach the campsite depending on your pace.
Camping on the ridge is currently restricted by the Forest Department, so we arrange overnight stays at Triund Base Camp, located slightly below the top.
Triund sits at an altitude of around 9,350 ft (2,850 meters), offering spectacular views of the Dhauladhar Range.
