Day 1: Srinagar to Sonamarg (80 km Drive)
You will arrive in Srinagar and embark on an approximately 80 km drive to Sonamarg, the starting point of the trek. Enjoy the scenic drive along the Sindh River with stunning views of Mountains and Lush Meadows. Overnight Stay at Camps or Guesthouse at Sonamarg.
Day 2: Sonmarg to Nichnai (11 km Trek)
This day is the beginning of your trekking journey. After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on an 11 km trek with steeper ascent towards Shekdur, a beautiful meadow with Silver Birch Trees. Trek through Grasslands and Pineforests to reach Nichnai. Camp beside a stream at Nichnai.
Day 3: Nichnai to Vishansar Lake (12 km)
In the morning have your breakfast and embark on a 12 km trek to Vishansar Lake. On the way you will cross the Breathtaking Nichnai Pass at 13,100 ft, which will reward you with a beautiful view of the valley. Descend down to reach the first Alpine Lake, Vishansar Lake, surrounded by lush green meadows. Camp overnight at the lush valley near Vishansar Lake.
Day 4: Vishansar Lake to Gadsar via Kishansar Lake & Gadsar Pass (14 km)
This would be the longest trekking day of your entire trek as your total trekking distance for the day would be 14 km. After an early morning breakfast, trek alongside Kishansar Lake, which is the twin lake of the Vishansar Lake. Ascend to Gadsar Pass at an altitude of 13,800 ft, the highest point of the trek, offering panoramic views. Descend down to Gadsar Lake, which is known for it's Stunning Blue Waters & Floating Icebergs. Camp Overnight in the Valley near Gadsar Lake.
Day 5: Gadsar to Satsar Lakes (12 km)
Have your breakfast and embark on an approximately 12 km trek to Satsar Lakes. You will pass through vibrant meadows, which are dotted with vibrant wildflowers. Today you will be crossing multiple army camps on your way to Satsar lakes, a group of interconnected 7 Alpine Lakes. Camp overnight near the lakes.
Day 6: Satsar to Gangbal Lakes via Zaj Pass (11 km)
After an early morning breakfast, embark on an approximately 11 km trek to reach Gangbal & Nundkol twin Lakes. You will begin with a steep ascent to Zaj Pass at 13,400 ft, which offers breathtaking views of the Harmukh Peak. Descend towards the twin lakes, with glaciers in the backdrop. Camp overnight near Gangbal lake.
Day 7: Gangbal to Narang & Drive back to Srinagar ( 12 km Trek / 50 km Drive)
Have your breakfast and trek down through lush pine forests to reach Narang Village. You may visit the Ancient Narang Temple Ruins, before driving back to Srinagar. You will Srinagar by evening, which would mark the bittersweet ending of your trekking Adventure.

3. What is the total trekking distance? The trek covers approximately 75-80 km over 7 days.
4. What is the highest altitude of the trek? The highest point on the trek is Gadsar Pass at 13,750 ft (4,191 m).
5. What kind of accommodation is provided? Camping in tents on a twin/triple-sharing basis is provided throughout the trek.
6. How cold does it get during the trek? Temperatures can drop to 0°C to -5°C at night, especially at higher campsites. Daytime temperatures range between 10°C to 20°C.
7. Is the Kashmir Great Lakes trek safe for solo travelers? Yes, it is safe, but it is recommended to trek with a group or an experienced trekking company due to the remote terrain.
